This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned finance leader to make a significant impact within a purpose-driven organisation. As Head of Finance, you will lead a finance team of 7, providing strategic financial guidance and oversight. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a critical role in ensuring the organisation's financial health and sustainability.

Experience negotiating with external stakeholders, particularly around funding levels and service level agreements (e.g., with the HSE), would be highly desirable.

The role:

• Direct and oversee the daily operations of the finance department, leading a finance team of 7.
• Develop and maintain a robust system of Internal Financial Controls to ensure the integrity of financial data, optimise resource allocation, and enhance accountability across all departments.
• Conduct in-depth variance analysis, providing clear and concise explanations for budget deviations to senior management.
• Proactively identify and analyse financial trends, translating insights into actionable recommendations for corrective action in collaboration with the CEO and senior management team.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all financial reports and analyses, meeting agreed-upon deadlines.
• Produce and analyse monthly management accounts, providing key performance indicators (KPIs) and insightful commentary on budgetary performance to guide strategic decision-making.
• Prepare year-end returns as required.
• Prepare other monthly financial reports as requested by the CEO or Board of Directors.
• Develop strong working relationships with all key stakeholders both internal and external.

The candidate:

• Qualified Accountant
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a leadership role
• A minimum of 5 years PQE.
• Strong experience participating at senior management or board level within an organization.
• Proven track record in managing significant resource allocation and overseeing complex budget management.
• Demonstrated expertise in negotiating with external stakeholders on funding agreements and service level arrangements, including engagement with organisations such as the HSE.
