WHO WE ARE The Humane League (THL) is a global nonprofit ending the abuse of animals raised for food. THL fosters a high-energy culture of teamwork and mission-driven problem solving, and we have earned recognition as Top Charity from Animal Charity Evaluators for all of their rating periods. Over the past few years, we've grown to a staff of 100+ talented individuals dispersed across the country and around the world. At The Humane League (THL), how animals are treated in the food system is at the forefront of our everyday work. As such, many of our staff are vegan by personal choice, and all of our THL-hosted events offer fully vegan menus. We welcome all mission-aligned candidates to apply, no matter where you are in your journey to end the abuse of animals raised for food. YOUR OPPORTUNITY The Open Wing Alliance (OWA), a program of The Humane League, is a global coalition of approximately 90 animal protection organizations across 70+ countries united in a common goal: to end the abuse of chickens worldwide. For the past several years, we have focused our efforts in Europe on eliminating battery cages and increasing uptake of the European Chicken Commitment (ECC) by securing corporate commitments from major retailers, restaurants, and manufacturers. OWA groups share tactics and resources to secure as many wins for animals as possible, specializing in institutional campaigning that can be tailored to our members' unique circumstances and challenges. As the OWA Europe Corporate Strategy Lead, you will serve as a key subject matter expert on corporate campaigning and corporate outreach for the OWA in Europe. You'll be responsible for building relationships with OWA member groups and providing advice, coaching, and training in order to build campaign knowledge and skills across the animal protection movement in Europe. We want you because you are an experienced campaigner and strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills. You are excited about collaborating with organizations across Europe to maximize impact for animals, and you have a deep determination to remove the worst forms of animal suffering from companies' supply chains. This position reports directly to the Director of the Open Wing Alliance. This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires domestic and international travel, equivalent to 6-10 trips per year, and requires a valid, up-to-date passport. This position can be based in the United Kingdom, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, or Spain. The successful candidate must be authorized to work in one of these countries. To enable collaboration with other global team members, this role requires hours outside of 9am-5pm at least two working days per week. More details can be provided at the interview stage. We will be recording a webinar hosted by Carley Betts, Director of Open Wing Alliance, and Mia Fernyhough, Sr. Director of Global Animal Welfare. The webinar will be available to watch here on February 26th. This position has a priority application deadline ofMarch 6th at 6:00 am UTC. Applications received before this time will be prioritized, and we will begin advancing candidates through the hiring process during the week of March 10th. Applications received after the priority deadline will be reviewed on a rolling basis. If you are experiencing technical issues, please contact careers@thehumaneleague.org prior to the deadline. Please submit applications and all supporting documents in English. All application questions and materials need to be submitted here through the application submission, we do not accept applications through our careers email.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
