Role Overview:

Talent Acquisition Onboarding Specialist

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented onboarding specialist to join our team at TELUS Digital. In this role, you will guide new hires through a seamless onboarding process, ensuring their successful integration into our organisation.

As a TA onboarding specialist, you will collaborate closely with various departments to coordinate resources, conduct orientation sessions and address logistical needs. Your exceptional communication skills will be vital in effectively communicating our company's culture, policies and procedures to recruits. Additionally, you will facilitate connections between new employees and their colleagues, promoting collaboration and a sense of belonging within our company.

Additional responsibility would include communicating company and position details to new hires before their start date, gathering necessary paperwork and scheduling first days. If you have an HR background, basic knowledge of labor legislation and a flair for interacting with people, we’d like to meet you.

Role Objectives

  • Providing necessary information and resources to facilitate a successful transition for new employees and ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive onboarding programs that align with the company's values and culture.
  • Coordinating and conducting new employee orientation sessions, providing an overview of the company's mission, vision, and policies.
  • Serving as a point of contact for new hires, addressing their questions and concerns and managing the onboarding process.
  • Collaborating with the HR, the hiring managers, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
  • Facilitating the completion of new hire paperwork, including employment contracts, benefits enrolment, and other necessary documentation.
  • Monitoring the progress and integration of new employees, identifying any challenges and providing support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate the logistics of new employee onboarding, including scheduling and preparing materials.
  • Conduct orientation sessions to introduce new hires to the company's culture, values, policies and procedures.
  • Schedule and coordinate onboarding activities, providing guidance and support to new hires throughout the process.
  • Ensuring completion of paperwork and following all legal and administrative compliance when onboarding candidates.
  • Assisting new hires with the completion of the necessary paperwork, including employee forms, benefits enrolment, and IT setup.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience as an HR Onboarding Specialist or in relevant/similar HR role
  • Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Knowledge of labor legislation
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Someone who has the uncanny ability to bond with a diverse group of stakeholders in different geographies and build strong working relationships
  • Someone who thrives on solving for undefined problems in a fast moving environment in a highly visible role
  • An ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • BSc degree in Human Resources Management or similar field
