We are seeking an experienced and strategic Interim HR Manager to support a mid-sized manufacturing company with 500 employees during a critical transition period. This is a 6-12 month contract role with the option of converting to a full time hire. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the organization’s HR practices and operations. The position is mostly remote, with occasional travel to the company's office in Atlanta (travel expenses paid).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the HR department, providing strategic and operational guidance to meet the organization’s immediate and long-term goals.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and benefits.
  • Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on HR-related matters, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Collaborate with department heads to address workforce challenges and implement HR initiatives that align with business objectives.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention strategies, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Assist in reviewing and optimizing HR processes, including implementing new systems or technologies as needed.
  • Ensure smooth execution of ongoing HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, and performance evaluations.
  • Support organizational change management efforts as the company undergoes key transformations.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve disputes in a fair and timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager, or similar leadership role, ideally within a manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting while managing a team and coordinating with onsite staff.
  • Hands-on experience in handling complex employee relations issues.
  • Ability to travel to the Atlanta office as needed (expenses covered).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in workforce planning and restructuring.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and HR technology solutions.
  • Experience in leading HR initiatives during periods of growth or change.
