Instructional Designer, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $100,000/year USD
Job Description
Posted on: May 13, 2026
Do you possess the ability to analyze the intricate details of a Shakespearean sonnet or deconstruct a word's phonetic architecture with precision? Consider applying that depth of linguistic and literary knowledge alongside advanced AI to revolutionize language and literature instruction for millions of learners. 2 Hour Learning is designing the next generation of English education—not merely writing it—by building an immersive, adaptive learning environment. We are looking for a visionary leader to drive our transformation of English and Language Arts education through sophisticated data analysis, groundbreaking AI integration, and profound subject expertise. Your objective? Doubling the rate at which students acquire language skills and literary analysis capabilities, spanning foundational phonics through advanced literary criticism. 2 Hour Learning is reimagining K-12 education with measurable, undeniable outcomes. Our AI-powered learning platform is reshaping student learning, allowing them to achieve mastery at double the pace of conventional education. We aren't adjusting the existing system; we're constructing an entirely new one from scratch, backed by compelling evidence. Platform users consistently earn 4s and 5s on five or more AP examinations, show growth exceeding two years on annual MAP assessments, and surpass their own perceived limitations. If you're prepared to deploy comprehensive ELA expertise within an AI-driven system delivering proven outcomes, submit your application today. What You Will Be Doing
- Examine student reading and writing performance metrics — including Reel engagement data, MAP scores, and assessment outcomes — leveraging AI workflows and LLM orchestrations to pinpoint learning deficiencies and create focused interventions. (Approximately 40% of your time allocation.)
- Building AI-enhanced tools that respond to diverse learning styles, rendering grammar intuitive, vocabulary acquisition engaging, and literary analysis approachable for learners across all proficiency levels.
- Creating adaptive learning sequences that respond in real-time, supporting student progression from phonics fundamentals through advanced textual interpretation, ensuring each individual advances at their ideal rate.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, assessment professionals, and AI engineers to ensure content alignment with curriculum standards and verify the accuracy of AI-produced materials.
- Converting classic and modern literature into interactive, AI-enriched learning experiences that both educate and spark genuine enthusiasm for reading and writing among students.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Overseeing traditional English curriculum structures or performing administrative duties—your focus centers on innovation and strategic enhancement of language arts instruction and learning within our accelerated framework.
- Manually grading large volumes of essays — AI manages assessment capacity, allowing you to concentrate on system refinement rather than paper evaluation.
- Teaching toward standardized test requirements — students in this environment already exceed AP performance standards, directing your efforts toward expanding mastery rather than test preparation.
Instructional Designer Key Responsibilities Drive accelerated student mastery in English and Language Arts across every grade level, achieving learning velocity at 2x traditional instructional rates. Basic Requirements

- 3+ years of experience teaching English/Language Arts or developing ELA curriculum, with demonstrable impact on learning outcomes
- Formal coursework in learning sciences, or 2+ years applying learning science principles in educational product or content development.
- Basic coding abilities in any programming language
- Experience designing, implementing, or using AI systems for tasks such as content generation, data analysis, or adaptive learning using the LLM APIs.
