Data Analyst (Data Governance and Power BI) (EU Based)

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data management and business intelligence, helping organizations build reliable, traceable, and governed data pipelines that support impactful analytics. What You'll Do

• In this role, you'll help lay the groundwork for scalable, enterprise-wide reporting by partnering with data owners, stewards, and business users.
• You'll focus on the foundational work required before visualization—ensuring clarity, consistency, and trust in the data

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Create and maintain data governance assets such as the business glossary, data dictionary, and source-to-target mappings
• Model enterprise datasets and develop semantic layers that promote reuse and clarity
• Support data governance and stewardship initiatives by documenting lineage, traceability, and business context
• Translate validated models into Power BI dashboards for end-users across functions
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders across multiple data domains

What We're Looking For

• Experienced consultant who can lead, advise and guide both business and technical stakeholders through complex analytics challenges
• Is comfortable owning a workstream end-to-end: from requirements gathering and documentation to modeling and dashboard delivery
• Has strong communication and organizational skills, with an ability to bring clarity to ambiguous or undocumented data environments
• Has worked in regulated industries (e.g., pharma, healthcare, financial services) or on enterprise-level data governance projects
• Understands the importance of governed self-service BI and how to enable it
• Experienced in modern, widely used data tools and technologies like Power BI, SQL, DAX
• Data governance tools (open to experience across platforms)

Nice to have: Informatica IICS, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake This is an independent contractor position the rate will vary based on experience
