Unify are proud to exclusively represent an exciting, high-growth Consultancy Startup who are looking to secure the services of an experienced Technical Business Analyst / User Researcher on a Contract basis for initially 3 months, with potential long term extensions.

The Technical BA / User Researcher will be joining an existing platform migration, transformation team, who are in the early stages of supporting a global, high-profile customer migrating from legacy Azure applications to a modern Azure environment. You'll play a pivotal role in helping the team progress onto the next phase of the project.

We need an enthusiastic Technical BA, with expert communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You must be a people-person, and a natural relationship builder.

The role will own the people and business side of the platform transformation supported by project management and technical roles. You will uncover user needs, reduce adoption friction, translate platform capabilities into outcomes, and maintain the golden thread from strategy > user need > platform capability > adoption > value realisation.

You will also analyse the transformation process and identify where AI can safely and ethically assist. Acting as the bridge between technical and business teams, you are the point of escalation for adoption-related issues and blockers.

The brief:

• Create customer personas to understand the customer base and their areas of concern.
• User research & engagement - Plan and run interviews, discovery workshops, surveys and contextual enquiries with application teams and end users (customers of the platform) to capture requirements, pain points, and adoption barriers.
• Narratives & value cases - Translate platform capabilities into clear, user-friendly narratives (service blueprints) that show how and why the platform benefits teams (speed, security, cost, resilience, developer experience etc).
• Migration & transformation support - Help teams identify pragmatic paths to migrate/modernise workloads that create tangible business value. Co-create adoption plans with measurable outcomes.
• Golden thread & traceability - Ensure the line of sight from strategy to user needs to backlog items and releases is visible and maintained (link epics/stories to outcomes & benefits).
• AI enablement: Produce an AI opportunity register from research outputs; assess data readiness, risk, and business value, triage use-cases with the AI team.
• Communications & change - Work with the client communications to evangelise the platform, publish regular updates, craft adoption playbooks, FAQs, training guides, and release notes.
• Issue escalation & unblock - Operate as the named point of escalation for transformation/adoption issues; run structured triage, and drive cross-team resolution. Requires access to Cloud Platform Team, Networks Team, BAU resource and any other parties that may be needed to resolve issues across networks, ES, and PCFv1 dependencies.
• Measurement & benefits realisation – Create feedback loops, and report progress (adoption funnel, time-to-first-value, CSAT, blocker resolution time).
• Backlog & governance: Shape epics and user stories with acceptance criteria; participate in backlog management and ensure research insights inform prioritisation.
