Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic, high-energy, and highly skilled Head of Sales to lead sales operations. This role involves driving the overall sales strategy and leading the sales team to exceed revenue targets. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and results-driven sales leader with a proven ability to build and manage high-performing teams, develop and execute strategic sales plans, and cultivate strong relationships with clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue objectives.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to set sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Use data-driven strategies to optimise sales performance and achieve targets.
  • Drive consistent revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing client relationships.
  • Establish and refine sales processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Design and implement structured sales processes from lead generation through to deal closure.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of leads and high conversion rates.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, understanding client needs and providing solutions that deliver value.
  • Oversee contract negotiations and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and ethical sales practices.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching, and feedback sessions.
  • Collaborate with customer success, marketing, product development, and other departments to align sales strategies with wider business objectives.
  • Communicate sales performance, challenges, and opportunities to the executive team.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events and conferences.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in SaaS sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in selling data products.
  • Demonstrable success in building enterprise sales functions within high-growth start-up environments.
  • Experience in both hands-on selling and sales management roles.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field; an MBA or equivalent advanced qualification is preferred.
