About Tempo Co

Tempo Co provides structured, managed virtual assistant and marketing support to growing Australian SMEs. We work closely with founder-led businesses that have outgrown doing everything themselves and need operational clarity, commercial structure, and reliable execution.

Our foundations are built. Our Account Managers and systems are established. We are entering the next stage of growth and are looking for a senior operator to help protect performance, client confidence, and revenue as we scale.

The Opportunity

This is a senior, fractional-style leadership role starting at approximately 10 hours per week, with a clear pathway to increase as the business continues to grow.

You will act as the senior escalation point for clients and Account Managers, support qualified sales conversations, and provide commercial oversight to ensure delivery standards remain high.

This role is suited to someone who values autonomy, accountability, and working closely with SMEs.

You will not be rebuilding systems. The structure is in place. Your role is to oversee, guide, and protect outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior, trusted contact for key clients
  • Lead or support highly qualified discovery calls and solution scoping
  • Oversee delivery quality across client accounts
  • Support Account Managers in complex or grey-area decisions
  • Manage escalations confidently and commercially
  • Participate in final-stage VA interviews to ensure fit and alignment
  • Identify client expansion opportunities aligned to existing services
  • Provide concise reporting and risk updates to the Managing Director

  • Strong client retention and low churn
  • High close rates on vetted sales conversations
  • Delivery remains consistent and commercially sound
  • Escalations are handled confidently without founder reliance
  • The team feels supported and clear
  • Onboarding is smooth with minimal early-stage friction

As the business grows, this role grows with it.

About You

You are commercially confident, calm under pressure, and comfortable holding senior conversations with business owners.

You likely bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in client management, partnerships, business development, or senior service delivery
  • Experience working within SMEs, founder-led businesses, or growing service-based companies
  • A strong commercial mindset with sound judgement
  • Confidence leading client conversations and solution scoping
  • The ability to support a team without micromanaging
  • High integrity and accountability
  • Full Australian work rights
