Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Data Analyst with expertise in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) and Data Visualization. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting data-driven decision-making, ensuring the effective analysis and presentation of insights for research and evaluation projects. This role is remote and project-based, with successful candidates being included in ProLeap Development Group’s permanent research talent pool for future assignments. This position reports to the Head of MERL and will work closely with research and projects teams to provide actionable insights through data analytics, visualization, and impact assessments.

Key Responsibilities:Research & Data Collection:

  • Develop and refine data collection methodologies, surveys, and research frameworks.
  • Conduct secondary research, sectoral mapping, and literature reviews.
  • Manage primary data collection, including structured interviews, focus groups, and online surveys.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and validation processes align with best practices.

Data Analysis & Visualization:

  • Perform data cleaning, structuring, and statistical analysis using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Python, or R.
  • Develop interactive dashboards, infographics, and reports to communicate findings effectively.
  • Utilize statistical techniques to analyze trends, patterns, and correlations within datasets.
  • Assist in predictive modeling and impact measurement for M&E projects.

Knowledge Management & Reporting:

  • Maintain and organize ProLeap’s research and data repositories.
  • Synthesize complex data findings into concise reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products.
  • Support in developing lessons learned, strategic recommendations, and best practices based on research insights.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Social Sciences, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in data analysis, M&E, or research within humanitarian, development, or consulting sectors.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or R for data visualization and analysis.
  • Experience with statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and impact evaluation frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic and French are a plus).
  • Ability to work remotely, independently, and meet deadlines in a project-driven environment.
