About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at Pinterest. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of both people-facing and business-facing products. Your expertise in quantitative modeling, experimentation, and algorithm development will be instrumental in solving complex engineering challenges. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Product, Engineering, Design, Research, and Data Analytics—to develop insights that drive product innovation and improve user experience. Your work will directly influence the development of scalable, scientifically rigorous solutions that serve hundreds of millions of users globally. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for data-driven decision-making, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that support Pinterest’s mission of inspiring creativity and connection. Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience analyzing data in fast-paced, data-driven environments
• Proven ability to apply scientific methods to solve real-world problems on web-scale data
• Extensive experience with quantitative approaches, including Machine Learning, Statistical Modeling, Forecasting, or Econometrics
• Experience using machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn
• Strong analytical skills with a scientifically rigorous approach to data analysis
• Proficiency in manipulating large, complex datasets using SQL and scripting languages like Python or R
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and translate insights into actionable strategies
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement best practices for instrumentation and experimentation, ensuring alignment with product goals
• Apply scientific rigor and statistical techniques to analyze product data, behaviors, and user interactions
• Build and prototype analysis pipelines to generate insights at scale, continuously optimizing data structures and metrics
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, and researchers to communicate key insights and influence product development
• Identify opportunities for data-driven improvements and innovations within existing and new product features
• Ensure high-quality, results-oriented outputs through meticulous data analysis and validation
• Advocate for data-driven decision-making and foster a culture of scientific inquiry across teams
