About The Role We are seeking experienced Senior Java Engineers to join a new dynamic team dedicated to transforming critical legacy services within a high-performance trading environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work remotely from the UK, contributing to the modernization efforts by utilizing the latest AI tools and internally developed LLMs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java backend development, with expertise in multi-threading, performance tuning, and cloud-native application design. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable, efficient, and modern API-first services that align with the company's strategic goals. Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Java Back-End Software Engineer, with a solid understanding of Java SE and EE platforms.
• Strong knowledge of multi-threading, garbage collection, memory management, and performance tuning in a trading or high-performance environment.
• Hands-on experience with service modernization, API development, and cloud-native architectures.
• Familiarity with AI tools, large language models, and their integration into enterprise applications is preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to start promptly is highly desirable.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java backend services that are scalable, reliable, and optimized for performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems, integrating AI tools and LLMs to improve functionality and efficiency.
• Implement multi-threaded solutions, perform memory management, and optimize garbage collection processes to enhance system performance.
• Participate in API design and development, ensuring services are API-first and cloud-native.
• Conduct performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure system stability and responsiveness.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, adopting best practices in software development and deployment.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate innovative solutions into the development process.
