About The Role This team’s charter includes building and scaling our cloud-scale, data infrastructure which powers customer-facing metrics and events, and evangelizing platform architecture best practices. This infrastructure enables critical products like Health+, Metrics API, and use cases like billing, deep insights, and product visibility. We are a team passionate about the observability space of any large-scale distributed infrastructures. In Confluent, we build, operate, and improve systems for logging, notifications & alerts, events detection and routing, and metrics. You could work on the following teams in Cloud Manageability:

What You Will Do

• Contribute to the design, development, and operation of scalable, resilient data infrastructure supporting observability, logging, alerting, and metrics for Confluent Cloud.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers to build and maintain core components of the Cloud Manageability platform, such as Health+, Metrics API, and Alert Platforms.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code while gaining hands-on experience with large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native technologies.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and sprint planning to continuously improve the quality and performance of our systems.
• Take ownership of small projects and deliver features that directly impact the reliability and usability of Confluent Cloud for internal and external users.

What You Will Bring

• A recent graduate who will be working remotely based in the UK with a UK address at the time of application
• Graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master's program in Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Good knowledge of data structures and algorithms and proficiency in at least one of these languages: Java, C, C++, Python, Go
• Self-motivated and able to drive projects with mentorship and project requirements
• Smart, humble, and empathetic and able to work effectively in teams and strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ready to make an IMPACT -- Driven and excited about the challenges of a fast-paced, innovative, and quickly growing software development environment
• Interested in building large-scale distributed systems
