Resident Field Service Fitter - Northern Tasmania

About Us Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. The Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced Resident Diesel Mechanic to join our Field Service team based in Northern Tasmania (Devonport / Burnie). Reporting to the Service Manager in Launceston, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic, repair and maintenance services to our customer’s equipment. You Will Also Be Responsible For

• Autonomously work from your home in Northern Tasmania.
• Providing onsite technical support on Hitachi equipment including diagnostics, repair and maintenance
• Conduct basic failure analysis and identify specific modes of failure
• Providing exceptional customer service to our customers
• Ensure your work sites are kept tidy and all paperwork is up to date
• Conducting your work in compliance with all quality and safety standards and procedures

To Be Successful In This Role

• Minimum Certificate III in a Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent discipline (Diesel Mechanic).
• Commercial Vehicle trades will also be considered.
• Previous experience with the assembly, overhaul, repair and servicing of mechanical and hydraulic components on construction and/or mining equipment.
• Ability to work autonomously and proactively solve technical issues
• Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and customer service etiquette
• An uncompromising commitment to quality workmanship and safety policies and procedures
