The Company

A leading insurance company with over 1.2 million customers is looking for an Associate Quality & Business Analyst to join their Commercial Data Department. The company is remote-first, with occasional meetups every few months, and is known for its strong culture and collaborative environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

This role will support commercial and marketing data requests, including data modelling, BI development, data strategy, and price comparison insights. Initially, the split will be 60% data quality and 40% business analysis, gradually shifting towards a 50-50 balance.

Data Quality & Governance:

  • Ensuring data accuracy and reliability across commercial and marketing reports.
  • Writing and optimising SQL queries, validating and comparing data pipelines.
  • Supporting an on-prem to Azure migration, ensuring data integrity.
  • Acting as a Data Steward for the marketing team, leading monthly governance meetings.
  • Using Power BI for validation processes.

Business Analysis:

  • Managing stakeholders, gathering requirements, and leading sprints.
  • Engaging with senior leadership and C-suite, translating business needs into data solutions.
  • Running workshops and training sessions to improve data literacy.
  • Supporting the development of a self-serve BI reporting tool, transitioning from ThoughtSpot to an in-house, automated, NLP-powered system.
  • Tracking projects and workflows using Confluence and Jira.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong SQL skills are essential – ability to write queries comfortably.
  • Power BI experience is a plus, especially around validation processes.
  • Background in insurance is preferred, but candidates from finance or other regulated industries will also be considered.
  • Comfortable working in an agile, self-driven environment.

  1. 30-minute call with the Hiring Manager: CV run-through and motivations.
  2. Competency-based interview with the Hiring Manager and another team member: Covering technical and soft skills.
