The opportunity

Here’s your chance to join a small but growing team who are committed to ensuring Australia's current and future workforce has the skills they need to build the Nation. This is a fully remote role.

How your role makes a difference

As the People + Culture Advisor, you will be the central point for all People and HR related matters within the organisation, with ownership of policies, WHS, performance management, compliance and employee engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Lead the development and execution of talent management initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, and succession planning
  • Lead implementation of FSO’s People + Culture Strategy
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and values-aligned organisational culture through processes and internal communication
  • Chair the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Committee and lead on all Health, Safety and Wellbeing activities for our team
  • Provide coaching, training, and support to all team members on effective people management, conflict resolution, and employee engagement
  • Analyse Staff Engagement and Psychological Safety data and metrics to identify trends, inform decision-making, and measure impact of initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Who are we?

Future Skills Organisation (FSO) is a not-for-profit organisation focused on designing, trialing and scaling new ways of training to equip learners with the digital skills needed to meet a rapidly changing, technological future. This has been amazing and satisfying work.

Building on FSO’s success to date we are the Jobs and Skills Council (JSC) for the Finance, Technology and Business (FTB) Sectors where we work with employers, training providers, and Governments to ensure the relevancy of skills training. And we need a team of people who share our commitment and passion to drive change on behalf of the Nation.

Who are you?

You are motivated by being a key contributor to FSO’s continued growth journey with the flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. Your positivity, resilience, drive, resourcefulness and adaptability make you a standout.

Experience must haves

  • Demonstrated ability creating a positive, inclusive, and high-performing organisational culture, within a remote working environment
  • Expertise in developing and implementing effective HR programs and initiatives, including foundational systems such as CultureAmp
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in a people-focused advisory role, ideally within a small NFP organisation
  • Ability to verbally present complex findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience in a complex, ambiguous and ever-changing environment.
  • A collaborative mindset which embodies our core values.

Even better

  • Tertiary qualification in HR
  • Experience working in Vocational Education and Training (VET) or government-funded organisation
  • Experience using Asana
