Role Description The Financial Controller role is a part-time, remote position responsible for overseeing core accounting and financial reporting activities. This role includes preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements, maintaining accurate general ledger records, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies. The Financial Controller will monitor financial performance, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide analytical insights to inform management decisions. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve coordinating with cross-functional teams, assisting with internal and external audits, and recommending improvements to financial controls and reporting processes. The position requires effective communication of financial information to stakeholders in a clear, concise manner in a remote work environment. Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Accounting and Finance skills, including knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with budgeting and forecasting.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Financial Reporting and Financial Statements, with experience preparing, analyzing, and interpreting balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to identify trends, variances, and risks, and to provide clear recommendations to leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
- Experience in insurance or financial services, including work with multi-entity or complex organizational structures, is beneficial.
- Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems, advanced spreadsheet skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote, part-time setting.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity in handling financial data, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
