Junior QA Engineer (Automation-Focused)
UK-based | Fully RemoteSalary: up to £30,000 + benefits
We’re supporting a high-growth, engineering-led SaaS business that’s building a modern, scalable product used by customers across the UK and Europe. They’re now looking to bring in a Junior QA Engineer to join their product team and grow with the business as the platform continues to evolve.
This is a genuine junior-level opportunity with strong support, mentorship, and clear progression — but it’s not a box-ticking role. Quality matters here, and automation is a key part of how software is delivered.
The role
You’ll sit within a collaborative product and engineering team, supporting the delivery of new features and improvements across a live SaaS platform. The role combines manual testing with exposure to test automation, giving you the chance to build strong foundations in quality engineering early in your career.
Key responsibilities include:
- Executing manual tests across web-based applications
- Supporting and contributing to automated test suites (any prior automation experience is highly preferred)
- Writing and maintaining test cases and test documentation
- Identifying, logging, and tracking defects clearly and accurately
- Working closely with developers and product managers in an Agile environment
- Learning and adopting best practices around test strategy, automation, and quality ownership
What they’re looking for
- Commercial experience in a QA / testing role (junior level is expected)
- Some hands-on exposure to test automation (any tools or frameworks welcome)
- Understanding of software testing fundamentals (manual, regression, functional testing)
- Comfortable working with developers and asking the right questions
- A genuine interest in learning automation and growing as a QA Engineer
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Important requirements (non-negotiable)
- UK-based candidates only
- No sponsorship is available for this role
- You must have the right to work in the UK
Why this role stands out
- Fully remote role with a UK-based team
- Automation is encouraged early, not years down the line
- Clear progression as the product and QA function grows
- Supportive, engineering-led culture (quality is taken seriously)
- Opportunity to influence how QA and automation mature over time
Benefits include
- Salary up to £30,000
- Fully remote working
- Quarterly team meet-ups
- Pension contribution
- Learning and development support
- Long-term career growth within the product team
