Job Description

Posted on: April 18, 2026

At The Multiplayer Group (MPG), we create world-class multiplayer experiences through Co-Dev and Full-Dev partnerships. Our people-first culture supports a diverse, global team in a welcoming and flexible work environment. With teams spread worldwide, we prioritise connection—both online and in person. Giving back is central to who we are, with a focus on local communities, education, and sustainability. We are seeking a Technical Designer to work on multiple unannounced titles. You will have a direct impact on key gameplay, scripted events, and the moment-to-moment player experience. This role sits at the intersection of design and engineering, and you will be responsible for implementing scripted events and building scalable solutions - all crucial to the gameplay experience. Requirements

  • A passion for making and playing a broad range of games.
  • Previous experience in technical design, scripting, or level design on 1+ AAA title OR at least two published titles.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and diagrammatic communication skills, with experience using wiki-based design documentation.
  • A proven ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and communicate effectively using technical language.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, driven by a curiosity to understand how things work.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to work autonomously and adaptably.
  • Experience prototyping gameplay mechanics using UE4 or UE5 Blueprints, and experience with a scripting or programming language.

What Would Help

  • Experience working on a shipped multiplayer game from pre-production through to launch.
  • Experience working in a generalist role across all facets of game design.
  • Experience with meta or monetisation mechanisms for Free-to-Play design.
  • Experience designing games for console and/or PC platforms.
  • Experience in UI/UX design.
  • Experience using UEFN/Verse/Scene Graph.

Your Mission

  • Develop, iterate, and deliver high-quality gameplay assemblies and playable experiences for our AAA co-development partners.
  • Act as a vital interface between our design and engineering teams, helping to develop, iterate, and maintain new features and tools before deployment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working across any stage of a game’s gestation, from concept and prototype to soft launch and live updates.
  • Embracing MPG’s methodology by advocating for quality and maintaining a deep understanding of the client’s design process.
  • Serving as a technical resource to ensure the provision of tools, documentation, technical support, and the dissemination of best practices.
  • Testing new features as an experienced user, providing feedback, and suggesting improvements to tools, methods, and bug fixes.
  • Prototyping gameplay features and implementing elements that are complex, abstract, or technically challenging, impacting the entire game.
  • For Senior-level: Digesting and solving high-level feedback into actionable work, collaborating directly with production to ensure a release-quality standard.
