Careerscape is partnering with a fast-growing technology company to hire a Remote Data Analyst for their NYC-based, distributed team. This is a strong opportunity for an analytical professional who turns raw data into clear, actionable insight and partners with stakeholders across the business to drive better decisions.
In this role, you'll write SQL, build dashboards, analyze trends, and translate findings into recommendations for product, marketing, operations, and leadership. You'll work closely with data engineering and analytics partners to make sure the data the business relies on is accurate, timely, and easy to understand.
Compensation
- Base salary: $80,000 – $115,000, commensurate with experience
- Annual performance bonus: up to 10% of base
- Estimated total compensation: $88,000 – $130,000+ on-target
What You'll Do
- Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports in Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
- Partner with stakeholders across product, marketing, sales, and operations to scope and answer business questions
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses, A/B tests, and deep dives that inform strategic decisions
- Translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations through presentations and written summaries
- Define and track KPIs, build self-serve reporting, and improve overall data literacy across teams
- Partner with data engineering and analytics engineering to improve data quality, models, and documentation
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, BI, or analytics
- Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one BI tool (Tableau, Power BI, or Looker)
- Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis
- Experience working with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
- Solid grasp of statistical concepts (distributions, significance testing, A/B testing)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain analysis to non-technical audiences
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a remote environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with dbt, Airflow, or other modern data stack tools
- Background in product, marketing, or financial analytics
- Familiarity with experimentation platforms (Optimizely, LaunchDarkly, Statsig)
- Exposure to machine learning or predictive modeling
