DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES (Remote within the U.S.)Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Director of Human Resources, preferably based in the Central or Eastern time zone. The ideal candidate brings experience with diverse employee groups and thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments. This hands-on leader will roll up their sleeves to build out HR infrastructure — including policies, procedures, performance programs, recruiting, employee relations, and compliance — while also driving strategic talent initiatives that support organizational growth.
This role requires a builder mentality, a deep understanding of small-company growth, and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Liaise closely with our client’s Professional Employer Organization (PEO) to oversee all HR functions effectively, ensuring alignment and compliance across the organization.
- Create and lead training and development programs to enhance workforce skills.
- Develop and manage performance management and review processes.
- Drive employee engagement through initiatives, feedback, and recognition that strengthen connection to the company’s mission and culture.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Track HR metrics and deliver monthly reports to leadership, providing data-driven insights for decision-making.
- Foster positive employee relations and address employee concerns.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, employee relations, employment law, and organizational development.
- Training and Development, and Performance Management experience.
- Experience working with a geographically dispersed employee population is a plus.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment; Mergers and Acquisitions experience is a plus.
- Experience in the technology industry or in a similar environment is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR, etc.) is a plus.
