Junior Web Designer

The Junior Web Designer will support our team as we provide advisory services to a Swedish infrastructure group. This role focuses on creating clear digital interfaces that help translate complex financial findings into accessible visual tools for our clients. About Blue Oak Consulting Blue Oak Consulting provides independent advisory on pricing, portfolio economics, capital allocation, and acquisition assumptions. We are not a traditional consulting firm focused on broad transformation programs or high level strategy decks. Instead, we interrogate specific commercial decisions where the financial stakes are high and the existing narrative is not sufficient. Our team looks past corporate language and P&L complexity to identify where value is leaking or capital is trapped. The Role Working as a Junior Web Designer at Blue Oak Consulting is different from working at a creative agency. You will not be building flashy marketing sites: you will be designing the tools and interfaces that our clients use to understand their own economics. This is a fully remote position that requires a disciplined approach to work and a high degree of self organization. You will work closely with our senior advisors to turn raw data and financial models into functional web based dashboards and layouts. The daily environment is focused on precision and clarity over decoration. Because we are a small firm, you will see exactly how your designs contribute to the decisions our clients make. What You Will Be Doing

• Designing and maintaining user interfaces for internal pricing tools and client facing financial dashboards.
• Translating complex data sets and spreadsheet outputs into clean, intuitive web layouts.
• Creating wireframes and interactive prototypes to test how users interact with financial information.
• Updating and managing visual assets across our digital platforms to ensure a professional and consistent appearance.
• Collaborating with senior consultants to understand how design choices can improve the clarity of a financial argument.
• Testing site functionality and layout consistency across various browsers and devices.
• Building simple web components using standard HTML and CSS to support our reporting tools.
• Reviewing existing layouts to identify areas where visual clutter can be reduced to improve user focus.

What You Bring

• A degree or recent coursework in web design, graphic design, or a related field.
• A portfolio that demonstrates a strong understanding of layout, typography, and user interface principles.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS and a general understanding of how designs are implemented on the web.
• A curious mindset and an interest in how people use data to make business decisions.
• Careful attention to detail, specifically regarding alignment, spacing, and font consistency.
• The ability to explain design choices using logic and evidence rather than personal preference.
• Willingness to learn the basics of financial reporting to better inform your design decisions.
