Senior AI Engineer

Role Overview:

As a Senior AI Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced AI solutions while contributing to the broader technology strategy. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management and, where appropriate, customers, you will validate critical problem-solution assumptions and create cost models. Your efforts will support the organisation's mission to integrate intelligent systems into existing and future products, driving innovation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a core team member responsible for developing new AI solutions and enhancing existing ones.
• Identify business opportunities for AI integration in collaboration with other functions, supporting the product and technology roadmap.
• Contribute ideas and expertise to shape the AI roadmap and long-term strategy.
• Focus on building systems that learn and adapt from data, seamlessly integrating them into broader systems.
• Lead the development of intelligent features for future product iterations.
• Contribute to system design and architecture, considering scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure solutions align with business objectives.
• Drive decisions regarding the organisation’s technology stack, shaping its current and future direction.
• Develop cost models to support decision-making and evaluate solution feasibility.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks, including governance challenges.
• Provide input and act as a design advisor for AI initiatives across the business.
• Support the development of strategies, processes, and documentation to strengthen the AI function.

• Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

• Recognised Azure programme credentials or certifications.
• Minimum of two years' experience running AI models in production on Azure.
• Expertise in AI deployment patterns and architectures on Azure, including self-hosted LLMs.
• In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms and data analytics.
• Familiarity with the design and creation of Azure AI environments (e.g. Landing Zones, end to end Azure infrastructure etc.).
• Proven experience contributing to the architecture and design of scalable, reliable systems.

Desirable:

• Advanced degree (Masters or Bachelors) in a relevant AI discipline.
