Freelance Illustrator – Game Art

This role involves creating simple 2D vector art assets for a personal game development project, with a focus on isometric tilesets compatible with the Godot engine. The artist will be responsible for designing a variety of environment tile assets, including floor, shelf, and tower tiles, all tailored for a tower defense-style game. The position is fully remote, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute creative input to the visual direction of the project. Responsibilities

• Design and produce 2D vector isometric tilesets for use in the Godot game engine
• Create environment tile assets, including 1x1 floor tiles, 2x2 shelf tiles, and 1x1 tower tiles (total: 1 floor, 2 shelf, 6 tower assets)
• Ensure all assets are optimized for seamless integration into a game development workflow
• Collaborate on visual style and adapt feedback to refine asset quality
• Deliver assets in required formats and within agreed timelines

Skills And Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in creating 2D vector art, preferably for games or interactive media
• Proficiency with vector illustration tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer, or similar software
• Familiarity with isometric art styles and tile-based asset creation
• Understanding of asset optimization for game engines, ideally Godot
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow visual direction
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting
• Availability to deliver assets according to project milestones
