Senior AI Software Engineer

We're working exclusively with an early-stage start-up building an AI-first product that automates complex analysis for high-stakes decision making. They are looking for a Senior/Lead AI Engineer to join the team as they scale their product.

This role suits a senior/lead engineer who is comfortable owning AI systems end to end — from concept through to production release and iteration. Your features will help to influence multi-million dollar decisions for industry leading firms.

This is not a research-only role. The team needs someone who can design, build, and ship AI features that customers actively use.

N.B. This is an urgent role and interviews for this role are available immediately and through the Christmas shutdown period.

Fully RemoteSalary: Up to $200k Base + Equity

What You’ll Do:

• Build, deploy, and maintain production AI features powered by LLMs
• Own the full lifecycle: problem definition, implementation, evaluation, release, and improvement
• Translate experimentation into user-facing functionality, not prototypes
• Develop reliable RAG and agent-style workflows that hold up under real usage
• Work closely with product and engineering to embed AI into core workflows
• Make practical trade-offs around accuracy, latency, cost, and usability
• Influence how AI features are designed, tested, and released across the product

What You’ll Bring:

• Must have proven experience shipping AI or ML features into a live SaaS product
• Strong understanding of LLM behaviour and how to control, evaluate, and improve outputs
• Confidence building production systems in Python and integrating with APIs and backends
• Experience scaling RAG pipelines or vector search in production
• Clear communication and documentation skills
• A bias toward delivery and customer impact over experimentation for its own sake
