We’re looking for a content-obsessed creative to join us on a freelance/retainer basis and bring fresh energy to Steel City.

We’re not interested in chasing every trend. We’re interested in building a lasting brand—and we’re looking for someone who can help bring that story to life through content.

The Role

This is a part-time, retainer-based freelance role focused on owning and growing Steel City’s organic social presence.

You’ll create a minimum of 5 pieces of content per week across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts, working across a mix of formats including:

* Behind-the-scenes storytelling

* Product-focused content

* Founder and team moments

* Lifestyle and community content

* UGC-style videos

* Trend-driven content when relevant

* Educational and brand-building content

You’ll be responsible for:

* Content ideation and planning aligned with brand voice and business goals

* Short-form content creation (filming, editing, and basic graphics)

* Managing a weekly content calendar

* Coordinating with creators, customers, and ambassadors to source additional content

* Publishing and scheduling content across platforms

* Monitoring trends and identifying opportunities relevant to the brand

* Weekly performance reviews with recommendations and next steps

* Working closely with the Steel City team to capture product launches, campaigns, and brand stories

You Might Be a Fit If You…

* Are fluent in Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts

* Are a strong visual storyteller who understands how to build an apparel brand, not just post content

* Understand fashion, workwear, lifestyle, and DTC brands

* Can create content that feels authentic, aspirational, and commercially effective

* Have experience filming products, people, and behind-the-scenes moments

* Can work independently and take ownership without constant direction

* Have an eye for composition, lighting, editing, and brand consistency

* Understand what drives engagement, reach, and conversion in today’s social landscape

* Appreciate craftsmanship, heritage brands, and authentic storytelling

Deliverables

* Minimum of 5 short-form videos per week

* Supporting photography and story content as needed

* Monthly content calendar

* Trend and content opportunity recommendations

* Weekly performance recap and action items

* Ability to capture authentic brand moments rather than highly polished commercial content
