Data Scientist

N-iX is looking for a Data Scientist to join the team.
 About our client Our client is a leading European consulting firm partnering with one of the largest railway companies in Europe. They are at the forefront of revolutionizing rail transportation, combining advanced data analytics with sustainable practices to shape the future of mobility. The team is dedicated to transforming complex data into actionable insights, enabling innovation and optimization in the railway sector. About the role We are seeking an expert Data Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will work with complex data sources to gain valuable insights and provide a basis for decision-making. You will collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Developers to ensure data is processed and analyzed effectively and efficiently according to client requirements. What will you do?

• Develop models for data analysis and prediction
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and trends
• Create data visualizations and reports
• Apply machine learning and statistical techniques to analyze data
• Identify business opportunities through data analysis
• Collaborate with other IT experts to optimize data processing workflows
• Create prototypes and models to validate data analysis

Required skills and experience

• 3+ years of experience in relevant area
• Expertise in data analysis and working with complex data sources
• Broad knowledge of forecasting models, big data systems, and machine learning methods
• Strong understanding of data structures and IT security in corporate environments
• Proficiency in predicting/recognizing trends and patterns from data points of various sizes
• Proficiency in ML Programming Languages (e.g., Python, Pandas, Tensorflow, R)
• Experience with Data Analytics Tools and Techniques
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

• Experience in the transportation or logistics sector
• Knowledge of advanced machine learning techniques and deep learning
• Familiarity with cloud-based data science platforms
• Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing
• Understanding of data visualization tools and techniques
• Background in statistical analysis and mathematical modeling
• Experience with Real-time Data Platforms (e.g., Spark)
• Knowledge of API Scripts and Tools (e.g., JSON etc. on Mulesoft, Apigee)
• Familiarity with various database types: Relational Databases (e.g., Postgres, DynamoDB, RDS, MySQL, Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, Sybase, Ingres); NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch); Multi-dimensional Databases (e.g., Essbase, Anaplan)
• Proficiency in German language (both written and spoken) - B2 level or higher
