At mua Group, we’re both an independent distribution network operator (IDNO) for electricity and an independent gas transporter (IGT) for gas. We’re also a regulated water and wastewater company, adopting water and wastewater networks across Britain.
We’re looking for a Senior Pricing Analyst, who’ll play a key part the development, analysis and optimisation of energy tariffs to ensure both compliance and competitive pricing strategies.
We're a remote team, based across England, Scotland and Wales, and this is a home-based role.
Role responsibilities
- Tariff development and analysis: Analyse and develop energy tariffs in line with market trends, regulatory frameworks and company objectives. Ensure that tariffs are optimised for cost-effectiveness and meet both business and customer needs.
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure all tariffs are compliant with industry regulations, including government policies and Ofgem guidelines. Keep up to date with changes in regulatory requirements and adjust tariff structures accordingly.
- Reporting and data management: Regularly produce reports on tariff performance, including cost analysis, profitability and customer impact.
- Market research: Monitor market tariffs and emerging industry trends, identifying opportunities for competitive advantage and proposing adjustments to tariffs or pricing strategies.
- Project involvement: Support the implementation of new tariffs or changes to existing tariffs, including managing timelines, coordinating with relevant teams, and ensuring smooth execution.
Knowledge, skills and experience
For this role, you’ll need:
- Experience working within a DNO or IDNO in a tariff or pricing-related role. Strong knowledge of energy tariff structures, and industry regulations is essential.
- Previous experience in a regulatory, commercial or analytical role within the energy sector.
- Proficient in data analysis and tariff modelling.
- Experience with software tools such as Excel, SQL, or other relevant tariff analysis tools is highly desirable.
- A comprehensive understanding of the energy market, regulatory frameworks and key players within the DNO/IDNO space.
- A relevant energy, economics or finance degree or professional qualification is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
