Momnt is seeking a BI Engineer to support the business with data, reporting, and analytics, spanning both operational and strategic areas. This role will involve monitoring performance, uncovering insights, and driving improvements. You will work closely with analysts to deliver valuable insights that inform and support key decision-making processes. Location: This is a remote position, open to candidates based in the United States, with a preference for those in the Central or Eastern time zones. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.; sponsorships are not offered, and Corp-to-Corp arrangements are not considered. As a BI Engineer, you will:
- Design and perform database queries to meet internal and external analytical needs
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency through data validation, cleansing, and quality control measures
- Proactively monitors data processes and pipelines to ensure that systems are functioning as desired
- Optimize ETL workflows for performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Convert business requirements into data strategies and architectures
- Gathering critical requirements and missing information from meetings with various stakeholders to produce clear and actionable tickets
- Effectively communicate data insights and automate various analytical reporting tasks
- Managing competing resources, requests, and priorities
- Communicate complex information (data) to others in a way they can understand
- Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements
- Conduct in-depth data analysis and develop data-driven recommendations to drive business growth, improve customer experience, and optimize operational efficiencies
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization
- Monitor data quality and troubleshoot data-related issues, ensuring that data is complete, accurate, and consistent
- Develop and maintain documentation for data models, ETL workflows, and data dictionaries
- Perform other duties as assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
You’d be a good fit if:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL development
- In-depth understanding of data structures, databases, DBMS, database modeling, constraints, and best practices for business intelligence reporting
- Proficient in version control, particularly using Git/GitHub
- Practical experience with Jira
- Familiar with data manipulation and analysis using scripting languages like Python and R
- Experienced in working within cloud computing environments. AWS prederred
- Proficient in creating and interpreting ERD documentation, especially using Lucidchart
