As an individual contributor, this role is dedicated to establishing Employment Hero as a trusted authority in employment. You'll craft compelling narratives, drive event content strategy, and create impactful thought leadership that shapes industry perspectives and influences key stakeholders.

Your key focus areas will be:

  • Leading Content Strategy: Develop and execute thought leadership campaigns and event content strategies aligned with global goals and local market needs.
  • Analysing Insights: Use Employment Hero data and market trends to inform content strategy and measure the impact of thought leadership efforts.
  • Crafting Narratives: Write and develop key messages, presentations, scripts, and articles that position Employment Hero as a leading voice in employment.
  • Driving Event Content: Create positioning, themes, session outlines, and scripts for global company events.
  • Collaborating Globally: Work closely with senior leadership, including the CEO/Founder, to communicate the company’s vision and point of view.
  • Building Relationships: Partner with cross-functional teams, including Newsroom, Insights, Marketing, Sales, and Product, to deliver cohesive and impactful content.

  • A news junkie’s instinct for spotting trends before they go mainstream. You follow niche Substacks, industry insiders, and trend forecasters religiously.
  • Proven experience as a writer and storyteller who can craft compelling narratives.
  • Strong editorial leadership skills, with a track record of managing writers, editors, and contributors.
  • SEO fluency—you understand how search, distribution, and engagement work together to drive results.
  • A detail-oriented, deadline-driven mindset—you catch errors before they go live and thrive under pressure.
  • A passion for revolutionising employment and a knack for thriving in fast-paced, remote-first environments.

What we can offer

  • 8+ years of experience in Communications, Content Marketing, or a related field, with HR industry experience preferred.
  • A proven track record of developing and executing successful content strategies that drive business results.
  • Deep experience working with senior executives and subject matter experts to create key messages, presentations, scripts, and articles.
  • A keen eye for detail, ensuring all content is strategic, on-brand, and valuable to our audiences.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • The ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to liaise with senior leaders and hold yourself accountable.
  • Curiosity and collaboration: A team player who builds supportive relationships and thrives in a global, cross-functional environment.
