Job Description

Posted on: March 4, 2026

Location: Remote 🌍 (Preferably Southern Europe) Type: Part-time / Full-time Experience: Mid to Senior Expertise: Accounting, Audit, Treasury, Finance This is a great position for

  • A Big 4 auditor who wants to wear jeans and pick kids up from school in the afternoon. We do serious work, but we don’t make people suffer by making them wear suits and work crazy hours in the office just because. We offer serious autonomy, work schedule, and work location flexibility. It is all about value creation, not office politics.
  • A Controller or Finance Manager at a fast-growing tech startup. If you like the ambition and fast pace but dislike the speculative game and dodgy business practices, we offer a long-term view, focused on ethics, profitability, and true economic value creation. So far, we helped bring over 120M€ in direct foreign investment to the local economy.

The Mission, should you choose to accept it BRIDGE IN is a bootstrapped, profitable (€22M+ Rev ITD), and remote-first company with the vision of eliminating the burden of bureaucracy by leveraging technology and innovation, empowering organizations worldwide to create opportunities and freeing people to focus on meaningful work. 🚀 You might have seen BRIDGE IN on lists like Top 10 Portuguese Startups, elected as the 15th Fastest-Growing Company in Southern Europe, or being #5 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranking. That's cool, but what it really means is that we've been able to create momentum by sheer determination and value creation, no speculative VC-fueled dreams. To continue our relentless execution and expand internationally, we need a leader in finance and compliance. 🔥 We've moved beyond the initial scramble. We've derisked a significant part of our operation, we're profitable, and we have traction. This gives us the rare luxury of long-term planning and the freedom to build for the future, not the next funding round. But make no mistake, the fire is still burning. We operate with a deep sense of urgency, driven by the belief that we have a massive opportunity ahead. We are looking for a Financial Controller who thinks like an owner, not an external consultant. You aren't here to categorize receipts or make pretty, yet meaningless, slide decks. You are here to engineer our financial engine, optimize our international tax structure, mitigate liabilities, improve compliance, and manage cash flow across diverse geographies. What you will do

  • Strategic Treasury: Optimize our capital allocation. You’ll be tasked with putting our cash pile into risk-appropriate high-return vehicles and exploring non-dilutive funding to build a war chest.
  • Grant Maximization: Lead applications for R&D grants and other available non-refundable financial incentives, local and international. Pragmatically optimize organization setup to maximize benefit attribution and monitor program execution.
  • International Tax Structure: Evaluate and execute the best holding structures for our group. As we continue to expand in Europe and beyond, we need to weigh the best options that combine sophisticated financial services and business-friendly regulations.
  • Group Consolidation: We currently operate in PT, ES, and IT, and are expanding beyond. You will own the consolidated forecast and financial reporting across all geos.
  • Liability Management: Own the financial risk model across the business, with a focus on our Employer-of-Record service line. Manage employment liabilities, indemnity funds, and collateral guarantees.
  • KPI & OKR Leader: You’ll be the guardian of metrics, using OKRs to align future strategy and KPIs to measure past performance.
  • Continuous Forecasting: Objective decisions are only as good as the data supporting them. You’ll build forecasts and continuously update based on execution, keeping an obsessive eye on MRR vs. Recurrent Costs ratio.
  • Finance Operations Automation: Deploy improved processes and deterministic automations to improve our business operations, including procurement and AP/AR.

Who you are

  • Senior: Seniority requires experience, but experience is not enough to be senior. More than years of experience, we want smart, capable people. This is not, however, a junior position.
  • Operator: You have a good understanding of finance, accounting, and treasury operations, and aren't afraid to get hands-on with the daily MRR tracker. No task is beneath you. You get things done and provide clarity to management.
  • Technologist: Beyond spreadsheets, you need to understand technology, have enough technical ability to use and drive adoption of key applications and platforms relevant in the field. You should understand the power of software in non-linear business models.
  • Builder: You will be able to decide on tools to use and progressively build our FinOps stack.
  • Economist: Understanding macroeconomics and international politics will be a key asset in understanding global opportunities, trends, and risks. We expect you to contribute to raising awareness of economic matters and permeate each department, from go-to-market strategy to product planning, with key insights.
  • Bootstrapper: You value capital efficiency and enjoy a zero-budgeting approach. Everyone can make 1M€ by spending 5M€. We want the opposite. Frugal but not cheap.

What we offer

  • Freedom: We are remote-first. We care about outcomes, not office hours.
  • Ownership: You will report directly to the CEO and have a seat at the table for all major strategic decisions.
  • Stability: We are a profitable, healthy business. We intend to keep avoiding existential anxiety here.

This is a high-impact, high-reward role. You'll have immense influence over our strategy and finances. To the right person with demonstrable results, there is a path to the top: Director > VP > CFO. We pay fair market rates for a bootstrapped leader, but we don't compete with the 'funny money' of VC-backed burn rates. We compensate in autonomy, sanity, and a seat at the table. We have a diverse international team, no jerks. We give people control of their schedule and working hours. We trust by default, but with great power comes great responsibility. Ready to apply? Great! Our selection process is designed to be as thoughtful and analytical as the business we're building. It begins with a data-driven review of your experience and culminates in a human-to-human discussion to ensure we're a great fit for each other. We’re excited to see what we can do together.
