The Role
This role is a key part of our People and Talent Chapter, reporting directly to Tracy, Head of People Experience, and ultimately led by our Chief Operating Officer.
We are seeking a versatile and proactive People / HR Generalist to join our People team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of HR activities - from drafting employment contracts and providing informed employee relations guidance, to supporting recruitment and delivering key people initiatives across the organisation.
As a trusted partner to both employees and people managers, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective delivery of day-to-day operations while also contributing to key projects that enhance the employee experience and support the wider goals of the People team. This role requires a strong generalist foundation, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple work-streams concurrently. Strong end-to-end project management capabilities will also be key to your success, enabling you to drive initiatives from planning through to execution with structure, pace, and accountability.
This role is ideal for a well-rounded, people-focused professional with experience in a small or scaling business, perhaps even in a standalone role, who’s used to wearing multiple hats and thrives in a fast-moving environment. This role offers the opportunity to embed that hands-on expertise into a collaborative team setting, while continuing to build and broaden your experience across a variety of people-focused areas
Your key responsibilities
- People manager and employee support - act as the first point of contact for people-related queries, providing clear, empathetic, and practical guidance on policies, benefits, and HR procedures. Support employees throughout the employee lifecycle, ensuring a consistent and positive experience.
- Collaboration with the People team - work closely with colleagues across the People team to ensure a seamless and high-quality employee experience. This includes support on cyclical activities such as performance reviews, check-ins, engagement surveys, and learning and development initiatives.
- Project Management - support the planning and execution of a variety of people-related projects and initiatives. You’ll bring structure and momentum to initiatives, helping to define timelines, manage stakeholders, track progress, and ensure successful delivery across the business.
- Process improvement -continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve and streamline People processes. By gathering feedback and analysing the employee experience, you’ll help build efficient, employee-friendly systems that scale with the business.
- HR administration & compliance - ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee records and support core HR processes, including contract generation, data management, and compliance with employment legislation and internal policy. Your work will contribute to a professional, reliable, and accessible employee experience.
- Recruitment support – Collaborate with hiring managers and recruiters to support a smooth and engaging hiring process. This includes interview coordination, documentation, and contributing to an exceptional candidate experience.
- Data & reporting - Prepare and analyse HR metrics such as employee turnover, engagement, onboarding feedback, and other key trends. Use insights to inform decision-making and contribute to initiatives that support a thriving workplace culture.
Potential Project Opportunities…
- Depending on your skills, interests, and experience, there may be opportunities within this role to take ownership of, or contribute to, wider People team initiatives. These may include:
- Shaping how we approach remote working, with a focus on creating a best-in-class experience that balances flexibility, productivity, and connection.
- Exploring how AI can be responsibly integrated into our People processes to enhance efficiency and support employee experience.
- Strengthening GDPR practices in the People space to ensure ethical and secure handling of employee data.
- Helping to build stronger communication, community, and a sense of belonging in a remote workforce.
- While prior experience in these areas is beneficial, what matters most is your ability to distil complex challenges into clear, actionable solutions. If you’re someone who can confidently manage projects from start to finish - navigating ambiguity, bringing clarity, and driving outcomes - we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for…
- HR experience - Proven experience as an HR Generalist or People Partner, ideally in a fast-paced start-up or scale-up environment organisation. You’re confident working across the full employee lifecycle and can apply sound judgment in a variety of situations.
- Strong foundational knowledge - A solid understanding of employment legislation, HR policies, and best practices. You’re able to interpret and apply these confidently in day-to-day decisions and conversations.
- Project management skills - Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to end-to-end delivery of HR initiatives and projects. You bring structure, pace, and attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Operational excellence - Comfortable managing core HR administration and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of employee data and documentation.
- Problem-solving mindset - You’re able to navigate ambiguity, simplify complexity, and develop practical, people-first solutions.
- People-first communication - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport at all levels of the business.
- Collaborative and adaptable - A true team player who can flex across a range of responsibilities and thrives in a collaborative, evolving environment.
It would be a benefit if…
- Experience working with similar systems, e.g., BambooHR, Greenhouse, Notion
