Applications close: 9am AEDT on 7 November 2025
● Likely interview period:24 November 2025 - 5 December 2025
Role: ACCR seeks to meaningfully accelerate fossil fuels phaseout, through catalysing effective action by institutional investors to mitigate physical and systemic climate risk. This includes surfacing scientific, analytical, legal and strategic insights, and ensuring they are understood and acted on. This new role will take those insights and turn them into written content for publication. The role will work closely with ACCR’s Research and Publications Manager as part of the Analysis and Communications division to ensure our publications have their desired impact in the financial and corporate sectors.
Staff at ACCR are based across Australia and Europe so this role will need to be available to work regularly until 6pm AEDT/5pm AEST, and for some evening meetings (up to 3 evenings/week, especially during the Australian summer months), with flexibility for hours around these commitments. Travel within Australia for up to 5 days up to 4 times a year is part of the role.
You’ll love this job if:
● You enjoy writing and editing strategically, for high impact. You write quickly and accurately and are skilled at synthesising complex research into clear and compelling content.
● You are interested in the role that listed companies and institutional investors can play in phasing out fossil fuels. You understand the corporate/finance world and the energy transition and are comfortable writing for that context. Ideally, you are already familiar with key issues relating to the energy transition.
● You get energy from working with others, working in multi-disciplinary environments, and supporting colleagues to write and edit complex content. You can listen well, navigate and problem solve when perspectives differ, and show sound judgement.
Responsibilities
The role will include the following types of tasks:
● Writing high-impact content for institutional investor audiences, drawing on insights and analysis from colleagues e.g. reports, slide decks, investor briefing notes
● Copyediting and proofreading ACCR outputs for publication
● Collaborating with colleagues to produce strategic content for publication
● Managing risk in preparing written material for publication e.g. being alert to risks of defamation, ensuring rigour and accuracy
Criteria
We’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
● Exceptional communication and writing skills, particularly an ability to engage with complex scientific/financial/legal written material and convert it to clear, valuable outputs for investor audiences
● Substantial (7+ years) experience in a writing-heavy role (e.g. journalism, written communications or editing). Experience in a corporate, finance and/or climate related role would be a strong advantage.
● Agility & accuracy – able to turn copy around quickly while maintaining a high standard and attention to detail
● Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly an ability to drive a collaborative process, working with analysts, climate scientists and strategists (individually and in groups) to produce strategic, publication-ready content, and doing so with tact, patience, flexibility and teamwork
● A commitment to ACCR’s mission and values including demonstrating respect and genuinely valuing diversity
● Flexibility to work overlapping hours with colleagues in Europe and travel occasionally
● Comfort working in a remote virtual context – connected to colleagues elsewhere, possibly with some colleagues and an ACCR office within the same region depending on location, but also able to work from home, and thus having an ability to operate fairly autonomously
If you don’t meet every point above, please still apply if you can see your skills well used in this role.Accountable to: Research & Publications Manager
