This role will be with the Ardonagh Europe central platform. It will report the European Controller and will work closely with local finance teams.
The role will be responsible for the financial control of two Ireland based service companies and will assist the European controller to support Ardonagh’s European businesses implement strong financial reporting and control environments. It will also play a key role in implementing strategic initiatives including financial system alignment projects, onboarding new acquisitions and post-acquisition integrations and restructurings.
The position requires hands-on experience and a problem-solving mindset. It will involve working with stakeholders such as local finance teams, legal teams, Group Tax and Treasury, and external advisers.
Key Role Accountabilities (Senior Manager responsibilities to be specifically detailed):Ireland Based Service Companies:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts in Ardonagh’s GL D365 for two Ireland based central services entities.
- Overseeing the reconciliations of bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
- Ensure policies and procedures are in line with Group Business Standards and processes.
- Completion of Quarterly Stat packs required by Group.
- Point of contact for intercompany reconciliations within the Group.
- Coordinating Statutory reporting including Annual Audits.
- Reviewing the costs and variances, working closely with the Ardonagh Europe FP&A team, to ensure centralized costs are in line with Budget.
Ardonagh Europe Financial Control:
- Working with and supporting the Europe Controller to design and implement an effective controllership framework for Ardonagh Europe.
- Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and various projects within the Accounting & Reporting function.
- Working with Ardonagh Group Technical Accounting to ensure correct implementation of Ardonagh accounting policies.
- Working with Ardonagh’s Tax function to ensure the implementation of tax initiatives including Transfer Pricing and Pillar 2.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A fully qualified accountant with 5+ years post qualification experience
- Experience of coordinating Statutory reporting and tax compliance.
- Highly motivated - able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong IT skills
- Background in insurance or FS not essential
Person Specification:
- Excellent communication skills, confidence to communicate with senior management and external bodies
- Good analytical and communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent report drafting skills
