Antagonizine is a Glasgow‑born digital zine dedicated to sparking nuanced conversations across politics, fashion, music, pop culture, and more. We platform emerging writers—often from working‑ and middle‑class backgrounds—to share fresh perspectives in a bold, feminist, and gender‑neutral voice with a playful edge.
Role Overview
As our TikTok Executive, you will own the creation, curation, and growth of Antagonizine’s TikTok presence. You’ll craft short‑form video content that reflects our mission, engage directly with our community, and help shape our TikTok strategy to drive reach, conversation, and brand awareness. Ideally applicants will commit 6-8 hours per week to the zine, however the role is voluntary so we understand life comes first !
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Curation
- Develop original TikTok videos—from concept to post‑production—that align with Antagonizine’s voice and values.
- Stay ahead of trending sounds, formats, and editing techniques to keep our feed fresh.
- Account Management
- Schedule and publish content consistently, optimizing for peak engagement times.
- Monitor comments, messages, and mentions—foster genuine conversations with our audience.
- Strategic Growth
- Analyse video performance metrics and user insights to refine content strategy.
- Collaborate in monthly planning sessions to set growth targets, brainstorm series, and identify partnership opportunities.
- Cross‑Functional Support
- Liaise with writers, designers, and other volunteers to repurpose written or visual assets into TikTok‑friendly formats.
- Provide social media best‑practice guidance when needed.
- Qualifications
- No direct experience in social media marketing required
- Deep familiarity with TikTok trends, features (e.g., Duets, Stitch), and algorithm‑driven growth tactics.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and video‑editing skills (in‑app or via tools like CapCut, InShot, Adobe Premiere Rush, etc.).
- Self‑motivated, highly organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote volunteer setting.
- Passion for feminist discourse, pop culture, politics, fashion, music, and championing underrepresented voices.
- Nice to have: basic graphic design chops (e.g., Canva, Photoshop) to create on‑screen graphics or overlays.
- What You’ll Gain Hands‑on experience building a niche media brand’s TikTok from the ground up.
- A byline as TikTok Executive on all content you create.
