About Accountful Advising
We’re growing and need your help!
Accountful Advising is an accounting operations firm supporting growing small and medium-sized businesses. We take pride in providing best-in-class accounting and finance services, including bookkeeping, monthly close, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and FP&A. Our focus is to provide accurate, timely financial information that supports decision making for our clients so they can be successful. Our clients are mainly in the B2B professional services and non profit industries, but you’ll also be supporting our strategic partners, who service a wide array of industries and sizes.
We’re a small, woman-owned, but growing firm that’s young, collaborative, and focused on both our clients’ success and our team’s.
About the Role
As a Junior Accountant, you’ll provide essential bookkeeping and data-entry support to ensure accurate, timely financial records for our clients. This role is a great fit if you enjoy:
- Working with numbers
- Organizing financial data
- Finding ways to make processes more efficient
- Broadening your expertise across different business sizes and industries
- Working collaboratively with a small team in a startup environment
You'll report directly to the firm’s founder and become a trusted part of how we support our clients and partners. Weekly hours will vary, but you can expect at least 5 hours per week, with the potential for up to 25 hours depending on client onboarding, clean-up projects, and overall business needs. This role also has room to grow as the business grows.
What Your Day to Day Will Look Like
- Perform ongoing bookkeeping tasks including data entry, transaction categorization, and class tracking.
- Support bookkeeping automations and help improve processes in QuickBooks Online, Excel, Google Sheets, and accounting automation tools.
- Clean and organize data to ensure accurate imports into accounting systems.
- Help with reconciliations and other month-end and accounting tasks when needed.
- Assist with accounts payable: enter bills, set up vendors, and prepare 1099s.
- Communicate with clients to confirm transaction details and maintain accuracy.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or currently pursuing one).
- 1+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar financial role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and comfortable working with data.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while balancing multiple clients.
Why Join Us?
- We work to live, not live to work. We believe that work is a means for living a life you enjoy. It should allow you to pursue what you need to be healthy and happy.
- Flexible hours. Choose when and where you work, as long as you’re available to touch client files most days.
- Growth opportunities. You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in bookkeeping, client management, and accounting processes for clients across different industries and sizes.
- Supportive leadership. You’ll work directly with a founder who values training and mentorship.
What We Value
- Open Communication. We believe in clear, honest, and frequent communication because it builds trust with our clients and with each other.
- Teamwork. We work together toward shared goals. You’re never alone in figuring things out, and asking for help is part of how we work together.
- Growth Through Learning. We want our team members to grow in their skills and confidence. We know mistakes happen and that’s often where the best learning comes from.
- Support & Care. We take care of our clients, but just as importantly, we take care of our team. We believe that when our team thrives, our clients thrive—and that’s the kind of workplace we’re building.
Our Recruitment Process
- Submit your application by completing a brief screening questionnaire.
- Record a 5-minute, one-way interview to share your background and experience.
- Complete a 20-minute skills assessment.
- Meet with the firm’s founder to discuss work style, goals, and alignment with the role.
- Reference check with your prior employer.
